Skittle/Cull Shrimp
This includes a mix of colours and grades (colours are chosen at random). We can guarantee healthy, hardy, and active shrimp. These delightful invertebrates add a burst of colour to your aquarium. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced hobbyist, these shrimp are a wonderful addition.
We recommend putting shrimp in an established fish tank (at least 6 months set up) as they eat 24/7. They feed off beneficial bacteria and biofilm that build as the tank runs, which means the longer the tank is set up, the more food is available for the shrimp to eat.
These shrimp love having lots of hiding spots, and places to crawl on. Providing them with live plants (java moss, jungle Vallisneria, dwarf sagittaria, water lettuce) gives lots of cover for the shrimp to be comfortable with breeding, and protection from other fish in the tank.
Care Level: easy
Type: Community, neocaridina
Tank Mates: Nerite snails, other neocaridina shrimp, amano shrimp. If you have enough hiding places you could keep corydoras, otocinclus, guppies, mollys, and tetras with them.
Tank Size: minimum 5 gallons, the bigger the better for many hiding places.
Food: They eat anything; algae, tiny organisms living in the gravel or plants, dead fish or animals, calcium-rich food, blanched vegetables, frozen foods, and any fish food.
pH: 6.2 - 8.0
kH: 3 - 15
gH: 4 -8
Temperature: 65 - 85 F
Life Span: 1 - 2 years in good parameters.
Average Size: Females can get to 4 cm, while males are generally smaller.
